Please arrive 5 minutes before your slot starts and separate materials before coming to site. If visiting by bike and there’s a queue, join behind the other vehicles. Yes, when you book you will select which type of vehicle you will be using and the calendar will display the times available. This is to provide as many slots as possible and considered enough time to recycle a carload of materials. At times you may have to wait for a few minutes but the booking system is designed to minimise this. There is no cost to book an appointment to dispose of your unwanted household items at the site.

You will receive a confirmation email after booking and a reminder email the day before your visit. You may be asked to return at your booked time or make a new booking if your slot has passed. However, please don’t worry if you are slightly early or late – the system has a time tolerance around your booking slot to accommodate this. If mixed waste and recycling is brought to the site this is limited to four visits per 28 days; for garden waste only, up to 6 visits per 28 days. If you are unable to attend your pre booked slot, please cancel your appointment using the link provided in the confirmation email received at the time of booking. As of Monday 24 August, fridges and freezers are able to be accepted at the recycling centre and on bulky waste collections.

The Household Recycling Centre (the tip)

You can book your appointment slot up to 4 days before your scheduled departure or sign up on arrival at the airport (Depending on availability)3. If you use Prebook Security, we are unable to guarantee the time it will take to undertake security checks through the Airport Security area. You simply reserve a 30-minute timeslot for security in the days before your arrival. Same day appointments are often available due to cancellations. If you change your tyres at home, tyre companies may charge a small fee to recycle them so it’s good to always check first. We do not cleanse these items after you have delivered it and are not responsible for any data held on them. Some items, like computers, televisions, mobile devices and other devices which connect to the internet, may be recycled or reused by our contractors.
